More About The Club

In September 1985 Island Plastics called together the owners of Romahomes and Rominis to see if they were interested in forming a club. The 100 plus people present decided that they would like a club, and in February 1986 at the Excelsior Hotel in Birmingham the first official meeting of the club was held. In August 1986 the first Roma Club rally was held at Newmarket Racecourse.
Over the next two years the rules and constitution of the club were formulated, and the membership had grown to over five hundred units by 1998. The Roma Club produces a magazine four times a year to inform members about rallies, news about members, news from Romahome Limited (Island Plastics) and technical matters about the various vans.
One of the strong points about the Roma Club is that it is fully independent from Romahome Limited, but a condition of joining the club is that you must have a Romahome Limited (Island Plastics) camping outfit. If you change or dispose of your unit, you may still retain membership of the club, but only as an associate member (no voting rights and you can not hold any office within the club). The club is run by its members for its members.
